1957 Porsche 356 Speedster
This 1957 Speedster was stored for many years in San Diego as an unfinished project. The first couple of photos show the car as-found. I stripped the car back to metal, and performed all necessary metalwork. The car was restored in it's factory combination of white with a blue leather interior. Through sheer luck, while attending the 356 Club Concours at Dana Point, I put my head in the engine compartment of another 1957 Speedster, and discovered the original engine to this car! Soon t original motor was reunited with it's original body (thanks Robert!) The Speedster made it's debut at the 2010 Porsche Parade in St. Charles, Illnois, where it scored 298.1 out of 300 possible points, finished third in it's class amid heavy competition, and achieved the Gmund Award for restoration excellence. The car was shown throughout California and Arizona, often winning best in show, before going overseas.
