This 1961 Roadster was discovered in a garage outside of Chicago. The first photo in the gallery shows the Roadster with it's original owner shortly after her purchase. The car remained with her until my acquisition in 2005. As a D'Ieteren bodied car, this was the first Porsche built outside of Germany. The car had a hard life, with rust throughout the lower panels. Since it was a matching numbers, factory super, finished in slate gray/red, it made the preservation worthwhile. I removed and replaced all rusted metal and blended the paint where necessary. The Roadster was driven to many California events, including the All German car shows in Ventura, and Rennsport IV in Monterey. Never fully restored, the Roadster was a great driver.
