This Speedster spent many years in California prior to relocation to Arizona. There, it was discovered in a disassembled state, with most of it’s original parts stacked on shelves next to the car. For 41 years, the Speedster remained apart. Upon discovery and purchase, I spent hours researching the car when I discovered the Speedster was delivered new to Auto-Germa in Bologna, Italy. Further research confirmed a lack of bumper over-riders and holes in the body for bumper support tubes. The car was never destined for U.S. delivery. Removal of the exterior paint revealed a solid, rust free body with matching number panels. The body was metal-finished and prepared for paint. The exterior is painted Glacier White, a Porsche special-order color available from 1957 through 1959. The interior is finished in green vinyl with tan carpet. The engine and transaxle were both rebuilt and restored as original delivered, and original parts refinished rather than being replaced with reproduction pieces. The result is spectacular; a full concours-correct car in a unique color combination that turns heads and commands a crowd wherever it goes.
